Weekend Overview

Throughout the weekend, you'll learn, have a whole lot of fun, get a ton of experience, and meet fun people.

Training weekend fee includes:

• Two nights lodging in very nice cabins with bunk beds. Bring your own bedding or sleeping bag.

• Five meals beginning with Saturday Breakfast and through Sunday Lunch

• Training activities all day Saturday

• Fun evening social activities

We will accommodate orienteers of all levels from Basic to Expert.

Course Setting Training Option

We are offering a course setting training option. Course setting trainees will learn the principles of course setting and put them into practice by planning and setting Sunday's courses. Topics will include course design principles, control tagging and setting, writing control descriptions, and using Condes course setting software.

Sunday Courses

Sunday event is Classic courses open to the general public. This event is part of the COOL League season. You may attend Sunday without doing the entire weekend.

White (Basic) - approx. 2k to 3k

Yellow (Intermediate) - approx. 3k to 3.5k

Orange (Advanced) - approx. 3.5k to 4.5k

Brown (short Expert) - approx. 3k to 4k

Green (Expert) - approx. 4k to 5k

Red (long Expert) - approx. 6k to 7k

COVID Mitigation

To protect the safety of our volunteers and participants, the following protocols will be in place at this event:

• Attendance by Pre-registration only. No day of event registration.

• Prepayment encouraged. This will enable non-contact pick-up of materials.

• Assigned start times to ensure that large crowds do not gather

• Masks required inside buildings except when eating, sleeping, or only with your household group

• Maintain social distancing while waiting for your start

• Bring your own water and snacks. No water will be placed on the course. We will have single serving bottles available at the start and finish.

• No results will be posted on site. Results will be posted to our website after the event.

• Online pre-event beginner clinic information. While you are welcome to ask questions at the event, we will not gather people together for beginner instruction on Sunday.

• Please do not attend if you are sick. Refunds will be made if you prepay and cannot attend.

• Adult $13

• Youth (20 and under) $10

• Member discount $5

• Children under 10 free (one free child per paying adult, additional children at the youth rate)

Prepayment is encouraged and is the only way to pay with a credit card. The online preregistration system uses Paypal as the payment portal. Only cash or checks are accepted at the event site.

Liability Waiver - Everyone must have a waiver on file. The registration system gives you an opportunity to accept the waiver for yourself or your family members. Minors whose registration is not handled by a parent/guardian must print out the form and bring it with them with a parent/guardian signature.
