Overview
Camp Tahquitz offers open high-altitude forest with plenty of trails and other camp developments. This will be the first event of this year's COOL season!

Course specs:
White (basic) 1.8km 30m climb 11 controls
Yellow (intermediate) 2.5km 60m climb 13 controls
Orange (advanced) 3.7 km 140 m climb 12 controls
Brown (short expert) 3.3km 90 m climb 12 controls
Green (expert) 5.3km 170 m climb 16 controls
Red (long expert) 6.0 km 210m climb 17 controls
Additional Information
This will be the first scoring event for the 2023-2024 COOL season. COOL is our Youth League open to youth groups and individual youth through 12th grade. For more information, see the Youth League page.
The following standard LAOC protocols will be in place at this event:
Please pre-register. $10 additional fee per person for on-site registration dependent on map availability.
Assigned start blocks. Registration form asks for your start time preference. Your preference is not guaranteed. The earlier you register, the more likely that you get your preferred start.
Bring your own water and snacks. No water will be placed on the course. We will have single water bottle available at the assembly area.
Please take advantage of our online pre-event beginner clinic information. If you need additional training or have questions, let us know when you arrive. On-site training will depend on volunteer availability.
Please do not attend if you are sick.

Registration is now open and will close on Thursday, October 31 at midnight.
NOTE that registration is closing on Halloween! Don't miss the deadline because of the holiday!
Standard LAOC fees:
Adult $13
Youth (20 and under) $10
Member discount $5
Children under 10 free (one free child per paying adult, additional children at the youth rate)
estick rental $2 (unless you have your own)
$10 per person additional for on-site late registration
Prepayment is encouraged and is the only way to pay with a credit card. The online preregistration system uses Paypal as the payment portal. Only cash or checks are accepted at the event site.
Liability Waiver - Everyone must have a waiver on file. The registration system gives you an opportunity to accept the waiver for yourself or your family members. Minors whose registration is not handled by a parent/guardian must print out the form and bring it with them with a parent/guardian signature.

Take highway 38 past Angelus Oaks and Jenks Lake Road and follow orienteering signs. It is a right turn into the camp from highway 38.
